A cornerstone project of the IYA2009. An astrofest lasting four days between April 2 and 5, 2009. Local committees will set up telescopes in Beirut, Jezzine, Nabatieh, and other major Lebanese cities. The public is invited to come and use the telescopes to look at the Moon and at Saturn. Come one, come all. Public lectures by Lebanese astronomers will be given. Contact the astronomer of your choice to arrange a public talk at your location.

The Galilean Nights are a Fall repeat of the 100 Hours of Astronomy. A global Celebration of Astronomy meant to bring it down to the general public, open the possibility for all to view Jupiter and the Moon through a Telescope.
The Galilean Nights will be celebrated on October 23-24, 2009. A lot is in the making.

3ouloum Al Falk is a quarterly magazine published by the National IYA Committee for the international year of Astronomy. It aims at popularizing the science of astronomy and astrophysics and bring it to schools and public libraries all over lebanon. It is published exclusively in arabic. Its editor in chief is Dr. Ahmad Shaalan. He is helped by many members of the National Committee and other members. If you are an astronomer (amateur or professional), you are invited to contribute to the 3ouloum Al Falk.
